In November, konnekt celebrated a significant milestone with a graduation ceremony for its first group of graduates from both Baba Dogo and Kawangware. The graduates had successfully participated in the konnekt Academy workshops focused on empowering them to enhance their businesses through digital knowledge. The events highlighted both personal and professional growth for participants, many of whom have embraced digital platforms to reach new audiences and build business confidence.

The day began with the participants gathering and enjoying some entertainment, culminating in the ‘Chicken Dance’, an exciting ice-breaker activity filled with laughter! The energy was high, setting a positive tone for what was to come.

The award ceremony brought even more excitement, with certificates handed out to each graduate. Graduates like Pamela and Queen Mildred shared stories of how Konnekt transformed their business approach. Pamela, a motor rewinder, shared that she can now create engaging content for her work and connect with a broader community across Africa. Queen Mildred, a salon owner, expressed how konnekt helped her separate personal and business social media profiles, which revitalized her client base.

As the ceremony wrapped up with cake cutting, heartfelt “thank yous,” and feedback, graduates expressed gratitude for the skills and community they had gained. Jackline Siaji, who sells cleaning products, credited konnekt for helping her expand beyond her local community through a Facebook business page.

Phyllis, a mother, and budding entrepreneur, also expressed her gratitude to konnekt: “Finding people who are dedicated to [helping] empower women on their growth for free is very difficult. The opportunity konnekt gave us to expand our digital knowledge is a [once in a] lifetime opportunity that I wouldn’t take for granted.”

A delighted Phyllis shared her special moment on her Whatsapp stories

This graduation ceremony was not just a celebration - it was a launchpad for these inspiring entrepreneurs as they take their businesses to new heights, empowered by their newfound skills with digital tools, and a supportive network, facilitated by konnekt.
